This transforms what might otherwise be a dense balm into a softer, lighter, mousse-like texture.

Because waterless body butters don't rely on water to create their texture, they can also provide a concentrated combination of botanical oils, butters and oil-compatible ingredients.
Body butter vs body lotion: what's the difference?
Although both products moisturise the skin, their textures and formulations can be very different.
Body lotions generally contain water alongside oils, emulsifiers and other ingredients. This gives them their familiar light, fluid consistency.
Waterless body butters, on the other hand, can be formulated primarily from butters, botanical oils and other oil-compatible ingredients.
This generally creates a richer product that is particularly enjoyable on areas prone to dryness, such as the legs, arms, elbows, knees and feet.
Neither format is automatically “better”. The right choice depends on your skin, the formulation and the type of finish you prefer.

Our decision to create a waterless body butter is instead about the kind of product experience we wanted to offer.

Does whipped body butter feel greasy?
